Dear Hotel Manager,
My Unsatisfactory Hotel Stay
I am writing to express my profound
(deep) disappointment with my recent stay at your seaside hotel on May 25-26,
2024. I had booked a one-night stay based on the advertisement I saw, which
promised a room with a balcony and stunning_ (really good) ocean view. To my disbelief_
(不相信), the room I was assigned
was nothing like the one described in the misleading (誤導性的) advertisement.
Firstly, the so-called
"ocean view" advertised was nothing more than a partial view of the
sea, obstructed_ (阻礙)
by a tall 60-storey skyscraper right in front of the hotel. This was totally
different from the breathtaking panorama_ (全景)
I had been promised in the picture. Equally disappointing was the narrow
balcony, which could for me to even stand comfortably. The flimsy barely fit
two small chairs, let alone_ room railing felt so unstable __that__ for a moment I thought I was
going to slip and fall to my death.
To make _matters__ worse,
the room service during my stay was completely unacceptable. I had ordered a
simple breakfast tray, expecting a satisfactory meal to start my day. Yet, my
day was completely ruined as I was kept waiting for at least 2 hours. The food
did arrive eventually, but the quality left much to be desired. The scrambled eggs were icy
cold and rubbery, while the fruit was clearly stale. To my utter disgust, mold黴菌 was visible on the slices of apple.
The final thing that was
utterly dissatisfying (不令人滿意的)
was the malfunctioning of the air conditioner. You had to note that the
temperature outside was over 35 degree Celsius. I turned on the air conditioner
first thing when I entered my room. Yet, despite numerous attempts to adjust
the temperature, the stuffy room remained boiling hot, which totally ruined my
stay. I was sleep-deprived at night, tossing and turning because of this.
Due to the significant discrepancy
(差異) between the advertised
room and the one I was provided, I would like to request a full refund for the
stay. Additionally (Also),
I would greatly appreciate it if a c_omplimentary_ (free) night's stay
on a future visit (of course without the aforementioned problems) as a way to make up for the unsatisfactory
experience. If I do not hear favorably from you, I may consider reporting this
incident to the Consumer Council.
